My impressions after 2 weeks of playing on the Eternal Island server.
1. First of all, I liked the presence of hostile and friendly bots that you can encounter on missions, helicrashes, and just on the map at random moments.
• A big plus of friendly bots is that you can hire them as guards and give them orders, which are basically sufficient to fully control them (send to a specific point within sight, allow equipment looting, etc.).
They disappear upon restart, but during that time you can gather your own pocket army :)
• As for hostile AI, especially on missions, they shoot quite accurately at least 200 meters, switch to automatic fire up close, and also don't stand still but flank the player, running from different sides. To be fair, at night they have poor vision. By the way, nights are dark but not long, and I personally like that.
2. The second plus is medicine.
Many medical supplies and tools for treating illnesses, blood infections, bullet extraction, shock management, and so on. Also, illnesses and injuries impose certain restrictions on the character. For example, shock prevents climbing high objects.
In general, the treatment system is close to realism, and it's really interesting to pick at yourself with a field surgical kit under promidol somewhere under a tree in the forest at night in the rain after an unsuccessful mission run)
3. Regular events from admins, at least twice a week, like finding a hidden loot chest in a specific city, based on a photo or in a zone on the map. If the admin is online, they won't let you do it peacefully and will summon some chimera))) It's great that even with low player count, such events are still held.
Also, there are trade zones on the map, mutants, modded building, a trader reputation system that affects item availability; character skills that don't reset on death but are not quickly leveled; quests via radio and from NPCs, and a fairly nice set of cars and aircraft.
As for downsides, only some bugs, like those related to the disappearance of unwritten items. It's very pleasing that the project administration fixes them and generally adds innovations and adjusts existing mechanics.
What I would like to see are dungeons, which are currently in the process of being added; and new quests, like bring a zombie hand, kill 10 mercenaries, etc.
In general, the project suits me more than enough, so I definitely recommend checking it out.
Vehicles are disappearing. Don't store loot in vehicles and stock up on donation weapons.
