Initially, my wife and I were looking for a PvE server with some quests to kill time, thinking we'd play for a month and get bored.
We tried about 5 projects, settling on this one. We were really hooked by the server's community, the engineering team, the number of quests (they are custom-made and very interesting).
Thanks to the main quest line, there is a desire to complete them. If something is difficult, there are daily/weekly quests that help keep from getting bored.
Very interesting events take place, updates and balance changes happen very often. Recently, a new mutania appeared with its own features.
All in all, if you follow the rules and read the quest descriptions, you can have fun and love DayZ in a different way. The server doesn't let you get bored.
I like how responsive the engineers are, they always help and explain what's what
The players here, like the engineers, will tell, show, and help
A bunch of quest missions that give you a blast
Cool dungeons
Mutanina is set up nicely
Overall I recommend this server for relaxation and new experiences
Everything for people. Everything is described in the description. Everything matches. The project is developing - it doesn't stand still. I'll add to my review, everything is getting even better, events, community, atmosphere. I spent almost 2 months on the server, I like everything
Good PvE server, I think it belongs more to Hardcore than to Light. Lots of cool stuff, quests, no time to get bored. Respect to the developer or development team. The server is nice 🤪
Good server. Everything is clear. Perfect for beginners!
Everything for people. Everything is written in the description. Everything matches. The project is developing - it's not standing still. Not a donation dump. Just come in - And immediately start your story at the Pioneer camp.
|PVE|DarkWood Project-2|- this is the best server I've ever encountered!Special thanks to the server administration, always friendly and patient, constant updates on the server,a multitude of interesting things and with soul!thank you all
PvE server with quests, dungeons, bots with big guns, diverse fauna, logged in just to run around for 2-3 hours but ended up getting hooked for 7 months. RECOMMEND!!!
DarkWood server is one of the best PvE projects I’ve had the chance to play. It’s built on the Expansion mod and offers a truly hardcore yet balanced gameplay experience with a huge amount of content.
From the very first minutes it was clear that the project was made with soul. It has everything to interest both new players and DayZ veterans.
📌 Main server advantages:
— Airdrops with mutants and valuable loot
— Automatic events: checkpoints, camps, clearing
— Custom locations, including trade zones and challenging dungeons
— Over 500 quests, including story, daily, and group ones
— Interesting enemies: boosted zombies, mutants, cyborgs, insects
— Bots are configured fairly: they don’t oneshot, but put up a fight
— Multifunctional crafting: weapons, armor, medicine, drones
— Unique faction weapon upgrade system
— Developed economy: fishing, hunting, growing cannabis, mining ore
— P2P market, ATMs, themed traders
— Virtual garage and convenient storage — no need to build a base
— Infinite stamina, fall damage disabled, no need to sleep
— Frequent restarts (every 3 hours) and good server stability
The project gives players huge freedom — whether you want to play solo or join a group. You can focus on survival, quests, looting, farming, crafting, or simply explore an interesting, content‑filled world.
💬 Summary:
DarkWood is a PvE server that stands out from most projects thanks to its deep development, rich gameplay, and active admin work. If you’re looking for a stable server with an engaging atmosphere and plenty of activities — it’s definitely worth a try.
Rating: 10/10. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get the most out of PvE in DayZ.
Excellent server! I really enjoyed it and now I’ll tell you why!
It has a huge variety of content, and it’s not just a mishmash but a well‑put‑together build that’s coherent as a whole! This applies to all aspects of the server: armor sets, weapons, vehicles – everything blends harmoniously.
Special praise goes to the quest line. If you read each quest, you can see that there really is a storyline written with soul. They cover a large part of the map and you feel progression with every completed quest.
About donations. They exist like everywhere else, but you’re not forced to donate, since almost everything can be obtained, crafted, or traded in the game. Donation only speeds up progression or slightly eases the gameplay.
About lag. I barely noticed any here. Considering it’s DayZ, it can’t be made perfect, but the guys did as well as possible. It’s comfortable to play even in heavily populated areas. I play on a 3070, i7 10700, 32GB of RAM.
The main admin is just a nightmare! He is rude for no reason, gets personal, and openly insults. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially from someone who should maintain order and a respectful atmosphere. Communicating with him only leaves negativity and a desire to stay away.
Good afternoon, well, a ray of sunshine in a dark kingdom! A detailed response in DS? Is that where we were branded as masters of the circus and 'revisionists of history'? And now also 'You GIRLS — YOU CAN'? Seriously, do you even read what we write, or do you just copy-paste your excuses? No slander, dear, just our bitter experience: came to your vaunted PvE for quests and a warm welcome, after a break from DayZ, and caught sarcasm at the level of 'I'm going to nitpick you now' and zero support for newcomers. The main admin, of course, added spice, supporting this show as if it's supposed to be that way. But you, apparently, are unable to understand what we're trying to convey to you — that's no longer our problem, it's your ambush. Your rules are like a puzzle for geniuses, and instead of support, just excuses. About 'spermotoxicosis' — that's a masterpiece worthy of a frame, bravo for creativity!
And now the apotheosis: the main admin, all radiant with a VAC ban and a bunch of game blocks, teaches us how to live, and then rushes with his sidekick to my Steam profile and spews insults in the comments, as if it's his main mission. Is this now officially how to 'support' the community — through bans and trolling in the profile? We're already playing on another project, where PvE is about quests, fun, and normal communication, not about your circus with 'equality' and a kangaroo court. Good luck raising the online count with such 'professionalism' — with a VAC ban, insults, and inability to understand players, you're real stars, you'll fly far, into the blacklist! Thanks, we laughed to tears, the medal for comedy of the year is yours!

Everyone is equal on this server. No favorites and no outcasts. Top overall. Everything is liked.
Hello! I like that there are many crosses, the administration is responsive. And a lot of things are cool!
Admin caught me at 'sucking?'. No desire to continue playing.
Everyone lags, people are angry and can't talk, the admin contributes to this.
The worst server of all servers that could be found. Maybe it looks like a candy, but the admins of this server were born in a ditch, so the atmosphere of the server is maximally pathetic for an average rational user.
I do not recommend Darkwood Project for playing. The administration demonstrates a complete lack of player support: instead of helping newcomers, you will face rudeness and arrogance. The server rules are extremely unclear, which leads to misunderstandings, and if you break them, for example, by not parking a car, the administration will warn you about possible bugs such as desync, but all responsibility will be placed on you. Do not expect understanding or problem-solving — here they prefer to make excuses rather than help. This probably explains their low online player count — players simply do not want to stay in such conditions. It is better to choose a server where the administration truly cares about the community and creates comfortable conditions for playing.
Darkwood Project is the perfect choice if you want to feel like a star of the show "How to Piss Off a Newbie"! Admin Glendian brilliantly plays the villain, threatening to delete your vehicle and showering you with sarcasm like "who are you to argue with me?" and "what, are you special?" Even a random viewer (another player) confirmed it was too much, but the head admin, of course, knows better — he called it "passing on experience." His replies are an absurd comedy, full of contradictions and ridiculousness. Want to laugh at yourself? Then welcome, but I pass — this circus isn't worth my time.
I do not recommend the server..Biased attitude of administration towards players ..For a small mistake, they threaten to delete cars and other actions..They contradict their own project rules
