The ABOA v0.94.8.3 client update for Riftbound - Legacy of The Surge was detailed on Sept. 14, 2026, and it changes how every match opens: every player now starts on the white team as a solo survivor.

You can activate any riftstone and change team at any time. Riftstones now take friendly fire, so build around your team's riftstone to protect it from other players.

The Wasteland map adds five more solo POIs, plus playable area and height limits, and blocking volumes for the map. Projectile-type wand spells get a brief damage indicator. The magic wand's Healing spell now recovers health, food, drink, and energy. Its chaos/ice wall spell no longer lasts forever. The Role Selection screen has been fully reworked.

Known bug: the team window does not update after a team change.
