7 Days to Die V3.1.0 Henpocalypse stable is live, multiplayer invite bug fixed
The 7 Days to Die 3.1 “Henpocalypse” update is now live as v3.1.0 stable, and this build includes the hotfix for game invites not working correctly. If you’re on a dedicated server and can’t connect yet, select the Default Public Version branch, which is now v3.1.0 stable.
Chicken farming is the main event
The apocalypse now has poultry. Catch a chicken by sneaking up on it, chase it if necessary, and protect it from zombies on the trip back to base. Place it in the Chicken Coop workstation and craft Rekt’s Chicken Feed from Corn and Rotting Flesh for a steady supply of eggs and feathers. The coop has three tool slots:
- Brooding Lamp: speeds up production and chicken maturation
- Chicken Run: chickens hunt bugs, cutting feed cost by 50%
- Nesting Box: unlocks breeding and adds nesting slots
A new Chicken Stress event triggers at 100% stress, making you drop the chicken and setting off a game-stage-based event that can involve angered zombies or angry chickens. A sandbox option tunes these events.
Four chicken recipes join the game:
- Chicken Nuggets: grilled meat, feathers, corn meal, and animal fat. Filling and temporarily removes encumbrance.
- Chicken Wings: chicken, corn meal, eggs, oil, and honey. Temporary melee damage boost and infection immunity.
- Ash Chicken Stew: chicken, mushrooms, corn, coal, and water. Plenty of food, with no smell to zombies.
- Roadrunner Chicken Jerky: chicken, yucca fruit, nitrate powder, and beer. Moderate food and a run speed boost.
Sandbox and difficulty settings
Enemy and animal density/respawn options have been split into day/night and enemy/animal settings, so existing custom preset codes may need updating; invalid codes can default some or all settings. Official presets have been updated.
New options include Chicken Coop Time, Chicken Coop Yield, Chicken Coop Input, Chicken Stress Event, Infection Chance, Hunger Multiplier, Thirst Multiplier, and Stack Size Multiplier, which caps stacks at 30,000 for all items. Four new loading-screen images replace old tooltip screens.
Enemy density and respawn sandbox options do not increase rare biome spawns such as Chuck and Rancher.
