Space Engineers: Prosperity Update is live with new blocks
Keen Software House has released the Prosperity Update for Space Engineers on July 27, 2026, and it is free for everyone who owns the base game. The update adds a new Factorum encounter, the Prototech O2/H2 Generator, a Ping Grid button for lost ships, major Services Terminal and economy improvements, and a modernized Space Respawn Ship. A paid Prosperity Pack DLC also launches now with over 50 decorative blocks.
Economy services get clearer and safer
Services Terminals now explain why a grid cannot be stored or deployed — for example, if it is moving, recently damaged, or otherwise not ready. Server owners can prevent stored grids from being pulled from very distant locations and can make retrieval timing distance-aware. Precision Mode deployment can snap its marker to your character's current position, and repair, salvage, and storage rules have been tightened against bypassing hacking or ownership restrictions through station services.
Shop owners can opt each store out of Item Search without breaking the store itself, while modders and scenario creators get new options for enabling repair and salvage services on player-made grids. Contracts also received adjustments and better mod support.
New encounter, new blocks, and a lost-grid lifesaver
A new Factorum Global Encounter brings hidden Prototech and valuable signals into your worlds. The update's block list includes the Prototech O2/H2 Generator (large grid), which refills fuel and oxygen up to 10x faster while using less power than standard generators.
The Ping Grid button on the Info screen generates a GPS point at a grid's current location, which stays until you remove it — handy for anyone who has misplaced a mining ship, scout rover, or "temporary" construction platform.
Other free additions: the small-grid Flat Collector, large-grid Structural Platform Conveyor, Short Stairs, and Passage 2 Frame, plus a rebuilt Space Respawn Ship designed to be clearer for new and returning engineers. The update also adds automatic subgrid naming, auto-fill bottles while recharging, NPC suit variations, Story Datapads at economy stations, Laser Antenna UX improvements, wheel indicators, and DLC badges usable as faction icons.
Heads-up for builders: Wheel Propulsion Override behavior has been adjusted so forward means forward and backward means backward. Existing builds using Propulsion Override may need adjustment.
Prosperity Pack DLC and free Decorative Pack 2 extras
The paid Prosperity Pack adds over 50 cosmetic blocks, including Sloped Cockpits, Bulky Hydrogen Tanks, Steep and Solid Stairs, Battery Banks, Square Railings, Decorative Server Racks, Cable Runs, and Round and Square Lights. These blocks do not affect gameplay balance.
Existing Decorative Pack #2 owners also get new Triangular Grated Catwalks for free as part of the update.
Warfare 3 comes later this year
Keen confirmed that Warfare 3 is slated for November/December 2026, with new weapon types, new combat systems, and more dynamic PvP and ship-to-ship engagements — plus new threats that may not be aimed only at other players.
