Jabroni Brawl: Episode 3 patch 177 fixes BR, Hunted, SDK tools
Jabroni Brawl: Episode 3’s Steam update #177 is live, released on August 7, 2026. The patch spans map fixes, game-mode changes, NPC and weapon corrections, UI updates, VScript fixes, performance tweaks, and a substantial set of SDK tool improvements.
Maps and game modes
- c1a1a: Fixed Freeman’s locker room door getting stuck.
- c2a5a: Fixed the Apache helicopter touching the death trigger on spawn.
- c2a5g: Fixed mortar shells hitting the sky from above.
- Reworked the default team selection (“Auto Join”) option.
- Battle Royale: Restored the end-round message shown when multiple players are still in the zone at the end of overtime. This was a regression since pre-Steam patch 22.
- Hunted: Team player count balancing tweaks.
- Sneak vs. Terrorists: Fixed Sneaks being able to report dead bodies.
Player models, NPCs, and weapons
- Fixed HL2 Citizen using Fatass’s model properties.
- Changed the TFC Sniper’s token from
tfc_snipertotfc_sniper_hd. - Updated non-JB NPCs to ignore players hiding in a box.
- Upgraded flashlights for Combine scanners and fixed batteries dropped by destroyed scanners not being pickable.
- Updated Metrocops to support empty
SetPoliceGoalinput calls. - Fixed Explosive Tripmines not playing their dedicated sound cue when tripped.
- Fixed Friction grenades not dealing periodic damage after a direct hit, a regression since pre-Steam patch 638.
- Fixed removing the Dubstep Gun leaving its lights active.
UI, effects, and VScript
- Added visual cues for inaccessible teams in the team selection panel.
- Restored textual headshot notifications for headshot kills and deaths.
- Fixed an infinite-loop crash when attempting to display a hint panel.
- Fixed the Explosive Tripmine pickup hint not showing in SvT and the Pump shotgun alt-fire hint showing while disabled in Hunted.
- Restored the localization token for the ‘Random’ player model.
- Fixed missing weapon names/icons in kill notifications during the Midas Touch special BR round.
- Idle players now have a designated icon next to their name on the scoreboard.
- Slightly tweaked damage number appearance.
- Debug overlays now follow entities smoothly and are cleaned up when rewinding demo playbacks.
- Fixed incorrect color markers in localized strings; updated Czech and Finnish localizations.
- Fixed distorted shadows for objects mistakenly treated as not in view, such as skybox or mirrors.
- Fixed HDR lighting being always enabled on Linux, even on maps with LDR lighting only.
- Fixed the map properties’ VScript language field being ignored on the server side.
Miscellaneous and SDK tools
- Mimalloc-related tweaks and optimizations.
- Fixed a client crash when saving game instructor lessons progress and a crash caused by too many scenes in one frame.
- Fixed very heavy props glitching when pushed or kicked.
- Team-assigned objects, such as security cameras, can no longer be damaged by the same team.
- Fixed looping track trains stopping rotation after the first loop.
- Fixed per-model voice overrides not working for weapon reload voice lines.
- Removed the ‘settings’ section from shipped mapadd files.

- studiomdl: Fixed an invalid syntax error on valid jigglebones blocks, a regression since patch 168.1.
