Draconia adds sickness and sets European Dragon for August 31
The Draconia dev team broke its silence with a brief status update: the European Dragon is still on track for August 31, with final fixes and tweaks being made to get it ready by the end of the month.
Here's what else is in the works.
Sickness can now spread to players and AI
Player characters—and some AI—can get sick. Unsafe food and water sources have a small chance to infect players and apply long-lasting debuffs, which can be cured using various items. In some cases, players can contract diseases from enemies and then spread them back to enemies or other player characters.
This is an early version of the system. Future expansions will add more illness types and more complex cures that partially tie into the game's alchemy system.
First island gets a quality overhaul
Some old locations on the first island are receiving a quality pass to make terrain easier to navigate for flightless creatures, improve performance, and open up more areas for player dens.
Quest markers and interactive world assets
Quest givers will get quest markers in the near future, so new players can find quests without talking to every NPC in an area. The team has also started adding interactive level assets such as scroll piles and hay piles—some of which may hide a cheeky surprise.
A small teaser video of the coming updates is on the Youtube channel.
