Beasts of Bermuda DevBlog reveals favor store and Zupaysaurus

Beasts of Bermuda published its first DevBlog on July 31, 2026, detailing two community-facing additions: the teased in-game Favor Store and the largely finished Zupaysaurus, a chittering predator built around fear and rotten meals.

Favor store

The Favor Store sells cosmetics such as battle-worn scars and skull overlays for favor points earned through play time, objectives, and trials. Rewards are permanently unlocked for the species they were earned on, but texture slot limits mean only so many overlays can be equipped per dinosaur at once.

The store is accessible from the character selection screen. On death, players can buy items before resurrecting or reincarnating; while alive, the character O menu allows viewing the store, but cosmetics can't be bought then—only features like reskins and regenders. DLC items are also visible here: purchased content appears greyed out, while new or unpurchased items display normally, giving players a way to track future packs and DLC.

Zupaysaurus

Zupaysaurus is nearly done, with loads of customization options and skins. Its Fearful Gaze stacks, letting organized packs scare even bigger enemies, especially during night hunts. The creature can spit on fresh gores to rot them, making them tasty to Zupay but dangerous to other carnivores; host carnivores can interrupt the process, and larger carcasses take longer. An in-game setting removes the spitting particles and sounds for players with emetophobia, similar to how snake regurgitation was handled.

The team calls Zupay's animations their favorites yet. Music-track owners are in for a pleasant surprise upon release.
