Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Patch 1.2 lands with 500+ fixes

Patch 1.2 for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is live now on all platforms, bringing more than 500 fixes and improvements across stability, maps, audio, UI/HUD, vehicles, gameplay, and keybinds. It is the latest response to player feedback from the game's first week and includes a fix for a server crash tied to NVA Tunnel use.

Stability, maps, and audio

Patch 1.2 addresses a range of common and critical client and server stability issues. All six launch maps have also received extensive polish, fixing hundreds of environmental issues including floating or clipping vegetation, collision problems, terrain seams, culling/LOD issues, and water or visual glitches.

Audio fixes include:

  • Helicopter audible range has been increased after they were very quiet when close to the player.
  • Distant LMG and .50 cal HMG fire is now more distinguishable for both factions.
  • Smoke Grenade and Flare volume inside tanks has been reduced, making them easier to tell apart from Satchels.
  • Missing Shotgun shell casing drop audio has been restored.

UI, HUD, and controls

  • Persistent Medic and Capture Point markers fixed.
  • Offensive capture progress colours corrected.
  • Tutorial and button prompts no longer display incorrectly.
  • Tactical Map improvements and keybinding issues resolved.
  • Duplicate keybind warnings added.
  • Settings now save correctly.

Vehicles and gameplay

  • Truck speeds increased to better align with their Hell Let Loose counterparts.
  • Pilots and Logistics Officers can now ride as helicopter passengers.
  • Transport Helicopter Gunner seating improved.
  • Vehicles left out of bounds are now destroyed correctly; Conquest and Domination vehicles take damage while outside the play area, and boats do too after an extended period.
  • Knife hit registration improved, with further edge-case fixes planned.
  • Tank Smokescreen now uses a two-minute cooldown instead of a finite ammunition supply.
  • The M79 loadout now includes its intended additional magazines.

The update also fixes RCON unban details, including the ban reason, remaining ban duration, and admin name; HUD and input loss when closing the 3D Tactical Map; and non-headshot kills now counting toward the Longest Kill statistic. Numerous weapon, animation, deployable, Commander, online/server, tutorial, and Field Manual issues are addressed as well.

Patch 1.3 next week

Work is already continuing on Patch 1.3, currently planned for next week. Targeted fixes include:

  • Opening the Scoreboard from the Killed in Action screen.
  • Tutorial and Practice Range access for usernames containing a colon.
  • Server settings being wiped after a crash or restart.
  • RCON Map Shuffle randomising map lists in the same order.
  • VIP comments not appearing correctly in RCON.
  • Player voices stuttering or cutting out when entering the Killed in Action screen.
  • Tank Commander weapon sensitivity multipliers not functioning correctly.
