Soulmask August overhaul: work matrix, weapon training, recovery
Soulmask's 90-Day Overhaul Plan is past the halfway mark, and the August report details the next round of changes. The headline additions are a reorganized two-tier main menu, a new Tribesman Work Assignment matrix, Weapon Mastery training at the Training Ground, and a Gene Recovery second-chance ability. It also teases an entirely new Golden Sands region, new Masks, and the secret of the floating sky world — though those stay under wraps for now.
June and July fixes
Before looking ahead, the report recaps two months of quality-of-life work:
- Tribesmen no longer constantly run between storage chests.
- World Portals now connect the two worlds, allowing travel between Golden Sands and Misty Forest.
- Building now draws raw materials directly from inventory and camp storage chests.
- Attack animations, jumps, evades, stagger, and hit reactions were reworked.
- Boss disengage timers, health regeneration rates, and certain values were adjusted.
- HUD status details, quest guidance, and control prompts were cleaned up.
A clearer main menu and smarter tribe management
The old main menu threw more than a dozen modules into one wall of options. It's now a two-tier menu: broad categories first, then the specific pages within each category, covering character progression, crafting, tribe affairs, and more. Nothing was removed; it was just reorganized.
The new Tribesman Work Assignment UI arranges all Tribesmen and jobs in a single matrix. Chieftains can see current assignments and filter for the right talents — for example, candidates with maximum proficiency of 100 or higher stand out when a reliable craftsman is needed. Assignments are no longer just "do/don't": combined with the camp inventory system, players can tell Tribesmen what matters most, such as having miners secure metal before hauling miscellaneous items, or letting a cook handle fields in quiet periods while returning to the stove when food runs low.
Weapon Mastery training and Gene Recovery
The Training Ground now accepts mentors and trainees, letting Tribesmen learn any Weapon Mastery. That means a recruit missing one powerful mastery can be trained into the warrior you need instead of being abandoned.
Gene Recovery is a new player ability that restores all HP when the character is Severely Injured or in Feign Death. It has a 60-second cooldown and is unavailable in War Mode, so it's a second chance rather than a free pass.
Still waiting in Golden Sands
The bigger hook is still ahead: an entirely new region deep within Golden Sands, brand-new Masks, the secret that lets a world float in the sky, and the true nature of the Sun God. The report keeps those mysteries for later.
