American Truck Simulator 1.62 adds Improved Material System to Volvo VNL

Announced October 9, 2026, the upcoming 1.62 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator will extend the Improved Material System to two more trucks. In American Truck Simulator, the All-New Volvo VNL gets the cabin upgrade; in Euro Truck Simulator 2, the Iveco S-Way does.

The Improved Material System enhances the lighting and visual quality of vehicle interiors, focusing on how different materials react to light. The result is a more detailed, readable, and visually pleasing cabin environment. Differences between materials such as leather, fabric, plastic, and metal are much more apparent, even in low-light conditions.
