Squad hotfix 10.6.2 fixes crashes, UI bugs, and HAB crate trap

Squad Hotfix 10.6.2 is out now, with release notes published October 15, 2026. It follows the 10.6 update and addresses UI problems, backend stability issues, and a workaround for the HAB ammo crate that can trap players. Offworld says it plans to back out the ammo crate system changes in the next hotfix.

HAB ammo crate workaround is only a stopgap

HAB blueprints now display stakes when placed to show where the ammo crate will spawn, helping players avoid getting stuck in the completed structure. Offworld describes this as a small visual change to improve messaging while the crate remains attached to the HAB.

The studio acknowledges ongoing feedback about the change. Its original goal was to improve the experience for Squad Leaders and newer players, but Offworld says the implementation didn’t land in a way that achieved those goals while accommodating long-term players.

The next hotfix will back out the changes to the system. Offworld plans to revisit the implementation internally and with playtesting communities, who will help determine whether the original goals can be met or whether the idea needs to be shelved and rethought. The team thanked players for constructive discussion and said it will continue working to improve how it implements, reviews, and ships changes.
