American Truck Simulator 1.62 open beta adds Route 66 Tourist Boards

The American Truck Simulator 1.62 open beta is live on Steam’s Experimental Beta branch. It is a test build rather than a stable release, so bugs, instability, and crashes are possible. Testers can report issues in the official forums.

Tourist Boards and Route 66 rewards

Following the Atlas feature in the Road Trip: Ford DLC, the Road Trip Tourist Boards update adds one new Tourist Board in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Washington, and Louisiana. Nebraska gets two. Each completed board awards a new postcard.

The Route 66 Cross-Border Tourist Board celebrates Route 66’s 100th anniversary, with exploration locations across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Players can still explore locations in states they own without every expansion. Unlocking the special postcard requires owning all map expansions covered by the board and visiting every associated exploration location. Completing it also grants a special Route 66 Air Freshener accessory. More details on the Tourist Boards.

2025 Volvo VNL gets improved materials

The Improved Material System is expanding to more truck interiors. The All-New 2025 Volvo VNL is the latest truck to receive it, with enhanced lighting and improved visual quality focused on how different interior materials react to light. Improved Material System details cover the changes.

Goodyear paint jobs and Escape radio

The Goodyear Tires Pack paint jobs now use Goodyear’s updated branding, including the latest logo and slightly adjusted colors.

In Game Radio, the Escape station has removed tracks that were causing copyright issues and added 11 new songs. Escape remains the only stream-safe station in the in-game radio lineup, making it a good choice for content creators; the additions give it a longer runtime that better matches other stations.

How to join the 1.62 open beta

In Steam, open your Library, right-click American Truck Simulator, select Properties, open the Game Versions & Betas tab, and choose public_beta from the Beta Participation list. A Steam client restart may be needed for the branch name to appear. For modding details, check the modding wiki.
