Where to run Counter-Strike 2 commands

Commands run in two places: the in-game developer console in Counter-Strike 2 and the RCON console in your server control panel. The in-game console is useful for local settings and player-side commands; RCON is for managing a server without joining the game.

Before using commands in game, enable the developer console in the Counter-Strike 2 settings and open it with the ~ key. In the control panel, make sure you are sending the command to the server console, not to chat or a launch field.

Most server commands apply immediately. For permanent settings, put commands in server.cfg or another executable config and apply it with exec.
