DeadPoly Patch 0.6.8 turns on Halloween, overhauls liquid system

DeadPoly's Patch 0.6.8 has arrived, enabling the Halloween update and overhauling the liquid system. The patch also adds admin logs, new vehicles, crop seeds, a single-player pause button and a world-creation map preview, while larger features such as Factions and rescuable survivors are pushed to later updates as the game prepares to exit Early Access.

Liquid containers, admin logs and new vehicles

  • The liquid overhaul lets players drop liquid containers over others to move liquids around. Old containers update to the new versions automatically when set in the world or dropped from inventory.
  • The server admin menu now includes Combat, Raid, Build and Chat logs.
  • A few new vehicles are in; more are coming soon, along with the new Barn Find system next week.
  • Seeds are now available for crop plots. Single-player also gets a pause button in the Escape menu, and world creation has a map preview.
  • A damage indicator arrow appears when the damage dealer is within roughly 1,000 units.
  • Guns now attach automatically to backpack sockets when a backpack is changed or equipped.

Changes: admin resets, hotbar and salvage

  • World lootable objects can be reset through the admin panel, respawning all world objects.
  • The crafting list now shows when a craft produces multiple items, such as 1 Corn making 25 Cornmeal.
  • Hotbar usage is friendlier: drop an item over a slot to replace it, or press a hotbar key while hovering an inventory item to assign it. More hotbar updates are planned.
  • MP7 damage is increased, and Blood Bags now stack to 100.
  • Close buttons are added to many pop-up menus, and many pop-up menus have updated UI.
  • Some PvP raiding and looting interactions with unowned storage objects have changed.
  • Salvaging is enabled for worn storage such as backpacks instead of being limited to the base inventory.
  • Camera sway from breathing is removed when not holding a firearm. Use a melee weapon or empty hands while building to keep the camera steady.

Bug fixes: customization, multiplayer and salvage

  • Character customization no longer lets characters keep moving, "for real this time." Hide Helmet issues are fixed, including hair being hidden in first and third person.
  • Texture and door-size problems on multiple houses are fixed, as is water inside the flooded missile silo.
  • Locked day/night settings now update for non-host players, and the multiplayer time-of-day setting works for clients.
  • World saves no longer show "W_" before their names. Players are now alerted when a world name would overwrite an existing world.
  • Drop tables with certain languages are fixed, and bottom-right notifications that failed with specific languages should be resolved.
  • PvP looting of raided inventories is fixed. Dropping items over health bars no longer removes non-consumable items.
  • Salvaging no longer leaves ghosted inventories.
  • The red damage flash now plays for the hosting player.
  • Car horns now use the Vehicle volume slider instead of always being loud.

What's next

More Halloween content arrives next week. The developer also lists more bosses, world interior passes, a world item spawn rework, a vehicle spawning overhaul, more gun attachments and colors, more guns, new crafting stations and recipes, new buildable pieces, collectibles, more clothes, a vendor rework described as "super close," a Faction system with hubs and rescuable survivors, more story and lore tasks, and placeable map markers on the world map.

DeadPoly 0.6.8 preview: factions, survivors, fuel siphoning

DeadPoly's next update, patch 0.6.8, has been previewed ahead of release. The patch introduces a faction and reputation system, rescuable survivors, a liquid overhaul with fuel siphoning, new story tasks, a vendor rework, expanded crop plots, and new bosses. No release date was announced in the preview, published August 12, 2026.

Factions and reputation

Most NPCs now belong to a faction, and your reputation with them will rise and fall. Higher reputation unlocks new tasks, purchasable items, and better vendor prices. Each major faction has a designated hub; completing tasks and donating resources increases that faction's power and visibly changes the hub — new NPCs, additional tasks, new vendors, and more. The task line also carries "much, much more" of DeadPoly's story than before.

Rescuable survivors and vendor rework

Survivors are now scattered across the map. You can save them or leave them, and rescued survivors will travel with you; their stats make them better at specific jobs. Survivors who already belong to a faction are sent back to that faction's hub rather than joining your group. The vendor buy/sell setup is also changing, and bartering can finally be leveled when spending and receiving money with vendors.

Liquid overhaul, crop plots, and new bosses

Empty liquid containers now hold any liquid type found in the world. Most spawn with a semi-random liquid that can be swapped into other containers, and the overhaul adds fuel siphoning from vehicles plus new build parts, craftables, and world items. Crop plots now require seeds, tilling, and other steps. A handful of new bosses are coming — mostly requiring play actions to spawn rather than spawning randomly like Big Boy — and Raider/Hunter AI continues to see progress, alongside assorted small changes.

What's next

The developer is also working on unique interiors for more buildings and random world events. The update note thanks players for patience, explaining that summer — with kids out of school — slows communication, preferring "silent progress over noisy stagnation."
