Enshrouded price jumps to €39.99 on September 8

Enshrouded's price is increasing by €10 to €39.99 (or local equivalent) on September 8. Until then, the survival crafting game is available at its cheapest price ever, €22.49, as part of Steam's PVE Survival Crafting Fest.

Why the price is going up

The developer says the increase was always planned for the end of Early Access. So far, the game has "grown and improved immensely" in features and content, and the higher price will allow the team to "keep developing the game further, for as long as possible."

Buy now or wait for 1.0?

For anyone holding out for the 1.0 release, the studio says grabbing the game now at €22.49 is almost €17.50 cheaper than the upcoming release price, so it's a good time if you want a discount. Waiting until release is also "entirely reasonable."

What about existing owners?

The announcement is aimed at players who already own Enshrouded: the developer's estimates suggest most of you know at least one other person who might be interested in picking it up on the cheap before the increase. If that describes you, the time to tell that person is before September 8.

Enshrouded 1.0 launches October 15 with a big performance push

Enshrouded's 1.0 launch is set for October 15, and developer Keen Games has started showing what's changing. The current focus is on improving features and systems already in the game, with a new behind-the-scenes video highlighting some of the larger upgrades. The studio says a much longer list of changes is still to come in October's Highlights video and release changelog.

Performance is the other major 1.0 target. After years of added systems, detail, and visual polish, the team wants Enshrouded to run significantly better on lower- and middle-range systems—and, as the video's joke notes, that means dealing with someone who "keeps adding forests full of bamboo." This is Keen Games' second-ever look behind the scenes at how the game works.

Part of the team is currently at Gamescom, showing press the upcoming changes and the PS5 version. More videos are planned in the coming weeks, while the studio notes that September's packed release schedule should give players plenty to play until Enshrouded arrives on October 15.
