PixARK's upcoming Terracrypt update will let you bind up to three favorite rideable creatures to dedicated hotkeys, enabling instant summoning and seamless switching—no more digging through your inventory mid-battle.

The new Companion Creature system is the second Terracrypt feature preview. Once the update launches, players can assign one to three frequently used mounts to special slots. Pressing the corresponding hotkey summons the creature directly into the field; if another companion is already out, it is recalled automatically. You can even swap mounts while still riding one.

A few important caveats: only rideable creatures qualify. Creatures that can be ridden without a saddle appear immediately; those requiring a saddle must have one equipped in the companion's saddle slot, or a "Missing Saddle" message will appear. Summon and recall still respect normal cooldowns and need sufficient open space.

When you die, Pixblocks in companion slots aren't dropped—similar to hotbar and equipment items. If an active companion is recalled upon death, its saddle and inventory go to your cache. Switching directly from one companion to another transfers all items from the recalled creature to the new one; simply recalling without replacing sends items to your character's inventory.
