PixARK 1.233 patch targets Terracrypt crashes

PixARK: Terracrypt will enter server maintenance on September 4 for an expected 45 minutes as update 1.233 rolls out. The patch targets crash and loading problems reported since Terracrypt launched and is intended to reduce the frequency of those issues.

Known major issues

Some players may still encounter loading errors, pop-up warnings, or crashes when entering the game or loading Terracrypt-related content. The team says certain issues still need more investigation and verification, and asks players to submit reports through official channels if problems persist after installing 1.233.

PixArk / Skypiea fixes

  • Fixed a server crash that could occur when killing Fire Wyverns, Lightning Wyverns, or Poison Wyverns in Skypiea.
  • Fixed the matching single-player client crash in PixArk / Skypiea.
  • Fixed a server crash when downloading uploaded creatures through the cross-server download interface.

Terracrypt fixes

  • Tentatively fixed client crashes that could occur while loading the game after launch.
  • Fixed Dragon Cubes and their corresponding saddles being lost after respawning from death.
  • Fixed moving a quick-mount saddle into inventory creating duplicate icons and occupying extra slots.
  • Fixed melee hit-registration issues against certain creatures for the Fusible Crystal Spear, Shattered Crystal Sword, Shattered Crystal Spear, Fission Mica Sword, and Fission Mica Spear.
  • Fixed creature trophies not selling at the Terracrypt Goblin Trading Post.
  • Fixed incorrect text translations for sell-tier options in the Terracrypt Goblin Trading Post.
  • Fixed incorrect health values for certain Fluorite Structures and Bio-Lab buildings.

These are the only changes in the update, with further frequent patches promised while remaining Terracrypt issues are investigated.

PixARK client update fixes controller crashes and female model errors

On August 29, PixARK announced a new client update following further investigation into recently reported issues. The patch targets controller-related crashes, female character model rendering errors, and a bug that made creature whistles unusable.

Bug fixes

  • Controller-induced crashes — Potential crashes while playing with a controller have been resolved, with improved stability for controller inputs.
  • Dressing Table character model display — Fixed an error where some character models failed to render correctly when customizing characters via the Dressing Table.

PixARK: Terracrypt update targets crashes and taming errors

Players who've been unable to get into PixARK: Terracrypt have a fix on the way. The team has apologized for loading failures, error reports, and crashes to desktop seen during recent play, and says an upcoming client update will mitigate confirmed bugs behind both known issues below. Some problems are still under investigation.

What the update addresses

  • Terracrypt loading problems: Some players were hitting loading failures, pop-up errors, or crashes when launching the game or loading Terracrypt content, preventing them from entering gameplay. The update targets confirmed causes to reduce how often these occur.
  • Taming errors in specific language versions: Players using Russian, Korean, Japanese, or Turkish settings could encounter errors or crashes during passive creature taming.

If these issues continue after the client update is installed, players should submit feedback through official channels. The team says it will keep monitoring Terracrypt stability and continue working toward a permanent fix.

PixARK: Terracrypt's 'A Deadly Threat' quest is stuck until Aug 28 fix

PixARK: Terracrypt players who reach the main quest "A Deadly Threat" may find themselves unable to turn it in: NPC Zora can fail to spawn at the objective location. The team has identified the issue and scheduled a server and client update for Aug 27–28, 2026, after which the quest should be completable normally.

What's affected

The bug only blocks submission of "A Deadly Threat." It won't damage save data and won't block overall game progression. Explorers who haven't reached this quest yet can continue playing normally. Those already stuck should temporarily skip it: taming creatures, developing technology, building bases, and exploring the underground world are all unaffected. Once the fix is live, players can return and finish the quest as usual.

Maintenance schedule

The update arrives during a one-hour maintenance window:

  • PDT: Aug 27, 7:00–8:00 PM
  • EDT: Aug 27, 10:00–11:00 PM
  • UTC: Aug 28, 2:00–3:00 AM
  • Beijing Time: Aug 28, 10:00–11:00 AM

Both server and client will be updated, making "A Deadly Threat" available to complete again.

PixARK: Terracrypt descends August 26 with its biggest sale yet

PixARK: Terracrypt, the largest content expansion ever released for PixARK, arrives on Steam on August 26 at 6:00 p.m. PDT / 9:00 p.m. EDT (August 27 at 1:00 a.m. UTC / 9:00 a.m. Beijing Time). The DLC is normally $9.99, and a 10% launch discount drops it to $8.99. You'll need the base game to play, but no prior experience is required.

The best time yet to start PixARK

The base game is 75% off, falling from $19.99 to about $4.99 — the largest discount in PixARK's history, surpassing the previous record of 57%. Bundling PixARK with Terracrypt adds another 10% off, bringing the combined launch price to roughly $12.58. If you don't own it, the base game is free to play from August 26 through August 31.

What's waiting underground

Terracrypt is PixARK's biggest expansion yet, with:

  • Three underground layers
  • 13 subterranean biomes
  • 65 underground-exclusive creatures
  • 11 bosses
  • A complete guided main storyline — a first for PixARK
  • New underground survival technologies

Based on internal testing, a solo run through the full storyline and survival progression is estimated to take more than 200 hours. The update also improves mounts, revival dolls, chest detection, and other features, making exploration, progression, and inventory management smoother.

PC requirements and how to enter

Minimum specs are Windows 7/8.1/10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD FX-8320, 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 660 2 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7870 2 GB, and DirectX 10. Keep at least 30 GB of free storage for the update. Once installed, choose the Terracrypt DLC map from the map-selection screen to start.

Multiplayer, transfers, and support

Terracrypt supports single-player and multiplayer using the same systems as PixARK. Official PvP servers won't be available during the initial launch period while the team focuses on server stability, anti-cheat, and balancing. Cross-server transfers are also temporarily unavailable, so existing characters, creatures, and resources can't be moved into Terracrypt yet; a separate announcement will cover when transfers reopen. More updates are planned after launch.

Found a bug? Report it through the Discussions section of the PixARK Steam Community Hub or the Official PixARK Discord, including steps, screenshots or video, and system specs where relevant.

PixARK legacy server saves available for download until September 24

PixARK players can now download save files from all 104 retired legacy official servers, but the download service stays open for only one month, until September 24, 2026 (Beijing Time, UTC+8). The saves are packaged into 47 archive files, all available from the PixARK Server Save Download Center.

The legacy official servers were retired on August 23–24, 2026 (7 p.m. PDT / 10 p.m. EDT on August 23; 2 a.m. UTC / 10 a.m. Beijing on August 24). The new-server launch support events — Treasure Dodos and Lucky Bag Beacons — end with the update scheduled for August 25–26 (11 p.m. PDT on August 25; 2 a.m. EDT / 6 a.m. UTC / 2 p.m. Beijing on August 26).

Choose between two snapshots

  • August 3 Snapshot: Taken one day before the new servers opened on August 4, preserving the world as it appeared before the transition.
  • August 24 Final Snapshot: Taken on the legacy servers' final day of operation, preserving their world state at shutdown. Because some players transferred items and dismantled structures before shutdown, some buildings may already be missing from this snapshot. Choose the August 3 snapshot for a more complete record of your original base.

At the download center, select a snapshot, find your server by name in the table, and download the matching archive. A single archive may contain saves for multiple servers hosted on the same physical machine, so verify the server name before downloading.

Importing a server save into single-player

Before importing anything, back up your current local save data — these steps can overwrite an existing single-player save.

  1. Find the right directory. PixARK Map (CubeWorld) saves use ...\CubeSingles\CubeWorld_Light; Skyward Map (Skypiea) saves use ...\CubeSingles\Skypiea_Light. A save placed in the wrong directory won't be recognized.
  2. Extract and rename. Download and extract the correct archive, which contains two folders. If the folder you need ends with the Chinese suffix -副本 (meaning "copy"), remove the suffix and keep only the numeric ID — for example, 71310173-副本71310173. Otherwise, the game may not recognize it.
  3. Prepare the save directory. If you've never created a single-player character on that map, launch PixARK → Single Player → select the corresponding map → create a character → exit the game; the game automatically creates the map's save directory. If you've played that map before, the directory already exists.
  4. Place the server save folder. Copy the numeric folder into CubeWorld_Light (or Skypiea_Light). Open it and check for a Local subfolder; if it doesn't exist, create one. Move the Map and Tribe folders into Local. If Local already contains Map and/or Tribe folders from a previous import, back them up before overwriting.
  5. Register the map in MapSaves.ini. Add a line in this format: numeric-folder-name=map-name — for example, 71310173=ServerSaveTestMap. The left side is the imported folder's numeric name; the right side is the map name you'll see in game (English letters or numbers recommended). If MapSaves.ini doesn't exist, create MapSaves.txt, add the entry, then rename the file extension to .ini (enable File Explorer's file name extensions view if needed).
  6. Launch the game. Open PixARK → Single Player → Normal or Creative Mode → select the map name you added → enter the world. Bases may not load immediately; approach the area once to trigger them. If you still don't see your base, teleport to your original server character's location and respawn there to load the base.

Useful console commands

Press Tab or the backtick key (` ``) to open the command console.

  • ForcePlayerToJoinTargetTribe 0 — join the tribe associated with the structure under your crosshair. Aim at a functional structure such as a door, window, or workbench to access all structures owned by that tribe.
  • Cheat enablespectator — enter Spectator Mode and fly freely above the map.
  • Stopspectating — exit Spectator Mode and allow your character to respawn.
  • Cheat ghost — enable ghost/flying mode.
  • Setcheatplayer true — display the XYZ coordinates of your current location.
  • Cheat setplayerpos x y z — teleport to the specified coordinates.

PixARK: Terracrypt launches without official PvP servers

PixARK's first major underground expansion, Terracrypt, goes live with a staged official server rollout — but PvP won't be part of the opening. The pre-download update begins August 25 at 11:00 PM PDT, and the Terracrypt DLC becomes purchasable on August 26 at 6:00 PM PDT, when players can start exploring the new underground world.

No PvP at launch

Official PvP servers will not be available during Terracrypt's launch period. The team says official server operations will initially focus on PvE and exploration so players can experience a complete underground journey, and it will evaluate adding official PvP servers later if community demand is strong. Some official servers have already undergone related configuration changes.

Terracrypt launch schedule

  • Pre-download update: August 25, 11:00 PM PDT — pre-loads the Terracrypt client files.
  • Terracrypt DLC available: August 26, 6:00 PM PDT — purchase and play.

Launch-day official server rollout

New official servers go live in four waves across Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia, covering the PixARK Map, the Skyward Map, and the new Terracrypt DLC Map. All times are listed in PDT / EDT / UTC / Beijing time (UTC+8).

  • PixARK Map — Asia-Pioneering-theland17–22, NA-Pioneering-theland15–16, EU-Pioneering-theland15–16
  • Skyward Map — Asia-Pioneering-skyward22–27, NA-Pioneering-skyward18–19, EU-Pioneering-skyward18–19

Wave 4 — Aug 27, 1:00 AM PDT / 4:00 AM EDT / 8:00 AM UTC / 4:00 PM Beijing

  • Terracrypt DLC Map — Asia-Pioneering-terracrypt15–28, NA-Pioneering-terracrypt07–10, EU-Pioneering-terracrypt07–10

Additional servers will be brought online over time based on server performance and player demand.

Server transfers and DLC requirement

Each official server will operate independently, and cross-server transfers will not be available at launch. That includes transfers between the PixARK Map, Skyward Map, and Terracrypt DLC Map; between newly opened servers; and between new servers and the first batch of servers opened on August 4.

To enter an official server running the Terracrypt DLC Map, you must own the Terracrypt DLC. The exact timing for cross-server transfers will be announced once server operations stabilize.

PixARK: Terracrypt adds revival dolls and nearby-storage crafting

Feature Preview #3 for PixARK: Terracrypt outlines two practical additions to the next update: a craftable Revival Doll for underground Ruins and Boss arenas, and crafting directly from nearby storage. PixARK: Terracrypt is now on the Steam wishlist.

Revival Doll: a second chance in underground battles

Revival Dolls are crafted at a workbench and carried for emergencies. If you die inside an underground Ruin or Boss arena, a revival prompt appears; consume one doll to stand back up where you fell.

  • Underground only: Ruins and Boss arenas in the underground world, not the overworld.
  • Keep the doll in your hotbar, as recommended, so it won't be dropped on death.
  • No cooldown between uses; another doll means another revive.
  • Your inventory still drops at the death spot, so you'll have to recover it mid-fight.
  • No invulnerability after reviving, so be ready to move.
  • Revival may fail if the death spot is blocked by a structure, creature, or other obstruction.

Crafting from nearby storage

The update adds a quality-of-life feature for everyone: crafting can now pull materials directly from nearby containers, eliminating trips between storage and workbenches.

  • The search area is 11×11, centered on your character or the workbench in use.
  • Materials from storage are consumed first, before inventory items.
  • Ingredients are consumed directly from storage; leftovers stay in their original containers.

PixARK's New Beginnings event adds Celestial Palace and Treasure Dodo

PixARK's "New Servers, New Beginnings" event starts August 11 at 2:00 AM UTC on the new official servers that opened August 4. It adds the Celestial Palace building set, the tameable Treasure Dodo, and Lucky Bag supply beacons, and runs through August 24 at 2:00 AM UTC.

Event period

  • UTC: Tuesday, August 11, 2026, 2:00 AM – Monday, August 24, 2026, 2:00 AM
  • PDT: Monday, August 10, 2026, 7:00 PM – Sunday, August 23, 2026, 7:00 PM
  • EDT: Monday, August 10, 2026, 10:00 PM – Sunday, August 23, 2026, 10:00 PM
  • China Standard Time: Tuesday, August 11, 2026, 10:00 AM – Monday, August 24, 2026, 10:00 AM

Celestial Palace and Treasure Dodo

Treasure Dodos appear in Novice Grassland and Grassland on the PixARK map, plus Dawn Island and Woodland on the Skyward map. Defeating one has a chance to drop a Fortune Chest, which can contain building plans from the exclusive Celestial Palace building set — sweeping golden roofs, grand red halls, and jade-accented interiors. The Treasure Dodo can also be tamed, becoming a companion for exploring the new world.

Lucky Bag supply beacons

Supply Beacons take the form of festive Lucky Bags during the event. Opening one yields Electronics, Tek Energy Cubes, Iron Ingots, Steel Ingots, Gasoline, Polymer, and Alien Tech Pieces (including Alien Building Pieces and Alien Equipment Pieces). The amount of each resource depends on beacon color:

  • White or Green: 50
  • Blue or Red: 100
  • Purple: 150
  • Yellow: 200

Old servers go offline

The event also brings this year's summer events to a close. When it ends, all existing official servers except the newly opened ones will be taken offline at the same time. Complete any needed server transfer before then so your progress carries over to the new servers.

PixARK: Terracrypt Dev Log #4 reveals the people below

Developer Log #4 for the upcoming PixARK: Terracrypt map is here, and this time it introduces the inhabitants living beneath the surface. Published August 7, 2026, the entry, titled "The People of Terracrypt," follows earlier logs that covered the underground ecosystems and survival equipment, and it outlines the quests and conversations that will gradually reveal the history of this civilization—and the upheaval now sweeping through it.

Locals can pull explorers deeper into the story, point them toward rare resources, or share valuable technology blueprints, making the people of Terracrypt a central part of the journey.

Two settlements, two paths

The underground population is split between two very different settlements, each shaped by contrasting beliefs about technological progress, the future of their people, and the world beneath the surface. Those differences appear in how each group dresses, behaves, speaks, and responds to the changes threatening their home.

A key figure is an elder carrying a ceremonial staff. He leads the more traditional settlement and plays a central role in the main story, offering guidance and support early in the adventure.

A darker side to life below

Not everyone down there is welcoming. Some inhabitants have surrendered to madness and obsession, becoming a threat to the fragile peace of the underground. The environment will not be the only enemy, and the true nature of the danger may be more complicated than it first appears.

Players can add PixARK: Terracrypt to their Steam wishlist to be among the first to know when it launches.

PixARK official server transfers open Aug 4, old worlds close Aug 24

PixARK is consolidating its official server fleet this August. On August 4, 2026, 14 new PVE official servers open and server transfers become available for all players on current official PvE and PvP servers. The old official servers — everything outside the new list — will be taken offline on August 24, 2026, so anyone who wants to carry characters and progress across needs to transfer before then.

The move is designed to deliver smoother, more stable official servers and a livelier community while preparing the foundation for the upcoming Terracrypt update. PixARK’s persistent worlds keep every block and structure, which is why the official network needs this reorganization.

New servers and transfer schedule

Transfers open at:

  • UTC: Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 2:00 AM
  • PDT: Monday, August 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM
  • EDT: Monday, August 3, 2026, at 10:00 PM
  • China Standard Time: Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM

The new servers are all PVE:

PixARK map

  • Asia: Asia-Pioneering-theland9, Asia-Pioneering-theland10
  • Europe: EU-Pioneering-theland9, EU-Pioneering-theland10
  • North America: NA-Pioneering-theland9, NA-Pioneering-theland10

Skyward map

  • Europe: EU-Pioneering-skyward12, EU-Pioneering-skyward13
  • North America: NA-Pioneering-skyward12, NA-Pioneering-skyward13

Additional servers will be brought online gradually after Terracrypt launches.

The team advises completing transfers well before the deadline rather than waiting for the final days.

New-server welcome event starts August 11

The first new-server events are planned for Tuesday, August 11, 2026, featuring the exclusive Celestial Palace building skin and a selection of resource rewards. More events, rewards, and surprises will be announced later.

Old servers go offline August 24; save downloads open August 25

Old official servers shut down at:

  • UTC: Monday, August 24, 2026, at 2:00 AM
  • PDT: Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM
  • EDT: Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 10:00 PM
  • China Standard Time: Monday, August 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM

Save files from the closed servers will be available for download from Tuesday, August 25, 2026, for use in local single-player or private-hosted servers. A separate guide covering the transfer process, applicable rules, and instructions will be published in a future announcement.
