PixARK: Terracrypt gears up with gas weapons and new armor
The third PixARK developer log has revealed how Terracrypt will handle gear, and the answer is a full equipment system built around the underground world rather than leftover surface gear. The log, published July 29, confirms that deeper exploration will bring new resources, new crafting options, and new abilities tied to the environment below.
A new equipment system for the world below
Terracrypt is being designed as a complete underground world with its own ecosystems, resources, and survival rules. According to the team, relying on existing equipment in that setting would leave explorers struggling against unfamiliar environmental hazards and make progress feel disconnected from the world around them. The solution: craft new gear from resources found underground as you push into more dangerous regions.
Molten Crystal, heavy armor, and the Rotary Gatling
The new equipment line leans into materials unique to the underground:
- Molten Crystal has explosive properties, giving gear area-clearing effects useful for fighting through monster-packed caverns.
- Tough underground minerals can be forged into defense-focused heavy armor.
- Unique gas resources power a new line of gas-based weapons, including the Flame Hammer, Flame Sword, and Rotary Gatling.
Progression shaped by player feedback
The team says previous community requests for a stronger sense of progression on new maps and specialized equipment against environmental hazards were a major reference point for Terracrypt’s design.
More Terracrypt details are promised in future developer logs. Explorers can wishlist PixARK: Terracrypt on Steam now to get a launch notification.
