Forts Tournament 33 crowns Tarlahon in first Firebird DLC event

Forts Tournament 33, the first-ever Firebird DLC tournament, is in the books: Tarlahon took 1st place and the $100 prize. Julian and Taretar mastered the now-ubiquitous Lightning Beam + 20mm Cannon combo and adapted quickly with effective counter strategies.

• 1st — $100: Tarlahon (Julian, Taretar)
• 2nd — $50: Godos Greeb (Alexandr, D1mared)
• 3rd — $20: Teeth & Feathers (Pixsnips, Megared)

Godos Greeb kept the final heated, with the last match running past 30 minutes, and showed strong command of the DLC weapons despite being outclassed. In the bronze match, Teeth & Feathers played admirably after being rudely Cannon stacked by Tarlahon, holding off Abrams in a tight fight where Taichu nearly came back from a 1v2. The rest of the field missed the podium but helped reveal DLC balance, and top competitors borrowed ideas from their early matches.

Winners have been contacted; prizes will be sent as Steam Digital Gift Cards through Steam friends after Steam's 3-day friend waiting period expires.
